here is a quick look at the gold and items generated from doing some of the icecrown daily quests (excluding the daily pvp).
i only listed the champion’s purse for the reward for the argent tournament quests. the other reward is champion’s writ which grants 250 rep for the city you bought a commendation badge for as well as an additional 62.5 rep for each other city.
be sure to grab the macro’s i have to make some of the dailies a little easier and faster.

here are some of the devourer of souls stats:
level: 81 – 82
heath: 647,088 – 903,227
here is a full list of her abilities
during the fight against the devourer of souls he will continually cast phantom blast on the tank. if your tank is a warrior, make sure they use spell reflection. phantom blast can also be interrupted, so make sure anyone who can does so, as this spell can do significant damage to the tank or anyone the devourer of souls has targeted.
periodically throughout the fight, the devourer of souls will leap to another player in the party and cast well of souls. this spell can last 13-15 seconds and does significant damage to anyone who actually stays standing in it.
also during the fight mirrored soul will be cast on a player. when a player gets this debuff the dps needs to stop attacking the devourer of souls, as this debuff reflects all damage done to the devourer of souls onto the player with the mirrored soul debuff.
when unleashed souls is cast, a host of wraiths appear which you cannot kill or target. the healer needs to be aware during this part as the wraiths can do substantial damage when a group of them has a single player targeted. if you are targeted, run away!

my wife and i wanted a new entertainment center and we didnt really have the extra money for it. so i set out to build one. here are a couple pictures of what i came up with. it was built out of scrap wood my dad and i had lying around in his wood shop. some of it came from projects at shiloh chapel (the face frame in particular is all wood from shiloh, all 90+ years old). the doors are made out of yellow pine, and i am not too fond of them, and will be making new ones either this week or next.
last year, for my wifes birthday, i made her a coffee table. i took some wood out of a building i was working on that was built in 1803. most of the wood for the table is 150+ years old. on the bottom, there is a carving of a ship, this particular piece of wood was found inside a wall in one of the oldest parts of the building. below are a couple pictures i took of it. i took pictures of it while i was making it but it appears i have misplaced them. when i find them i will be sure to post them here.
go here for a few photos of the building. they are before and after renovation pictures.
i figured i would put up a post about herbalism. i have been using the addon gatherer, that is where the map i have came from.
farming herbs from 350-400+ is easy. head to sholazar basin and go nuts.
here are the primary herbs in this region:
now, as you can see, you can very easily (and quickly) go from level 350 to over 400 in this region. frost lotus and deadnettle also have a chance to proc when gathering various herbs. deadnettle has a much higher chance than frost lotus.
i have been following the development of this game for quite some time now. i really am excited about this one. it looks as though it may revolutionize star wars gaming as a whole.
the last star wars mmorpg, star wars: galaxies was not even remotely impressive (at least to me anyways). the game play was good, very similar to most other major mmorpgs, however, it was the flight mechanics that bothered me as well as the questing system. i managed to get through to about level 15 and called it quits (thankfully it was a free 30 day trial, which i did not use up).
here is the cinematic trailer for the game. it is absolutely stunning.
here are bronjahm’s stats:
level: 81 – 82
health: 539,240 – 903,227
mana: 166,760 – 279,323
here is a full list of his abilities
phase 1 of bronjahm:
during this first phase, bronjahm will cast shadow bolt at the tank anytime he/she leaves melee range. during this phase, he will also cast corrupted soul on a player and drain that players soul, which in turn creates a corrupted soul fragment. when a player has this debuff they need to run to the opposite side of the room that the tank is on. now, the tank can either stay directly in the middle while the played with the corrupted soul debuff runs away or the tank can kite bronjahm away while the player with the debuff runs in the opposite direction.
now, the tank does not need to kite the boss in every situation. if the dps is smart (and hopefully they are) and have good dps (3.5k+ is recommended, but as always more is better) they will use abilities/talents to slow or stop the corrupted soul fragment. for example, hunters can use concussive shot or a frost trap. mages can use slow as well as a frostbolt. other classes also have abilities to slow or stall a npc and it is recommended to use these if they are available.
phase 2 of bronjahm:
after bronjahm reaches about 30% health, he will teleport to the center of the room and will instantly cast soul storm, at this point it is recommended that all players stack on bronjahm to try and avoid the soul storm.
now, during this phase, it is critical that the healer pay attention to the players that will get feared because they will be taking a large amount of damage as they run randomly around the room and then race back to bronjahm to rejoin the fight to defeat him.

.tar.gz from openoffice.org
untar the package using
cd into the newly created directory (in my case it was
cd into the
run the command
rpm2tgz *.tgz – what this does is convert all the
.rpm packages into
.tgz packages which are usable by slackware (using the
cd into the
desktop-integration/ and remove the packages that are not slackware specific, convert the slackware
.rpm to a
rpm2tgz (you can move this newly created
.tgz into the parent directory of
desktop-integration/ to make the final install a little smoother)
cd.. into the original openoffice directory and then move into the
userland/ directory. convert the
.rpm there using
rpm2tgz (you can move this newly created
.tgz into the parent directory as well)
pkgtool install the packages. now you can use
pkgtool to remove openoffice if you ever so choose.
and your done, now openoffice is now installed
(i am sure there is an easier way to do this somewhere, but this worked pretty well for me)
